With local workforce development programs, businesses have access to a large number of well-trained, skilled workers.
Evansville WorkOne
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has several WorkOne centers throughout the state. Warrick County residents can utilize Evansville WorkOne, which serves neighboring Perry, Posey, Spencer and Vanderburgh Counties.
Evansville WorkOne offers a variety of services in order to help individuals achieve their career goals. Applicants have the ability to search online job openings, attend job search workshops and take career interest inventories. WorkOne also provides continuing education opportunities to all who are interested.
Warrick Employment Center
The Warrick Employment Center, located in Boonville, offers GED classes and computer training. It also assists individuals searching for jobs by helping them prepare resumes, etc.
SINE
Founded in part by a Lilly Endowment, the Southwest Indiana Network for Education (SINE) seeks to “enhance the culture for learning by promoting learning for life throughout the Southwest Indiana counties of Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick.”
In addition to its many youth programs, SINE has also developed adult literacy initiatives within each of the counties in order to create a large, skilled workforce in southwestern Indiana.
